Flowing Like Water Across the Causeway: Premier Singaporean Yoga Concept Studio, Jal Yoga, Sets New Roots in Malaysian Soil

Jal Yoga, Singapore’s premier 3-in-1 Yoga, Pilates, and Barre concept studio is making history as the first Asian yoga brand to expand into multiple countries, including Malaysia and Indonesia. Founded in January 2018 by Pardeep Fogat and his wife Jasmine Loh, Jal Yoga has swiftly become a guiding light for individuals on a transformative journey to discover their innate potential. 

One of their standout contributions to the wellness landscape is Jal Yoga’s introduction of Infrared Heat Yoga, celebrated for its therapeutic properties, with benefits including — but not limited to — improved circulation, flexibility, and cellular health, as well as healthier skin. Currently, Jal Yoga operates out of a total of two studios in Malaysia. These are The Row Studio, in Kuala Lumpur, which is also Jal Yoga’s flagship studio, as well as Megah Rise in Petaling Jaya. Students can choose from a selection of three different rooms, depending on their choice of session; Agni, Vayu, or Prithvi. The Agni room, which derives its name from the Sanskrit word for fire, is installed with infra panels for heated classes, while the Vayu room, named for the Sanskrit word for wind, lets you take flight in aerial yoga and barre. Prithvi, named after the Sanskrit word for earth, is specially reserved for private sessions.

  • Aerial yoga, a form of yoga performed in suspended hammocks, combining traditional yoga poses with acrobatic elements;
  • Reformer pilates, pilates exercises performed on a specialised machine called a reformer, utilising resistance for strength, flexibility, and balanced muscle development;
  • Mat pilates, pilates exercises performed on a mat, focusing on bodyweight resistance, core strength, and flexibility
  • Barre, a workout method combining elements of ballet, Pilates, and yoga, using a ballet barre for balance and incorporating small, controlled movements to strengthen muscles and improve posture.
